Experimentation and rainbows..

The day started with a trip to the hospital with Bob, as I wanted I took some photos of rainbows around the hospital waiting rooms.

I love the way these are drawn and coloured, they are fantastic and these are the kind of rainbows I've seen around where I live - these are the kind of ones I want on my sculpture.

I know what I want and trying to create a splash under pressure was technically hard, my first try looked okay but it needed to be flatter just as the jet was hitting the wall. I did some experiments with the flow of water and I filmed water hitting a board from a hose pipe in my garden in slow motion to see the radius of the splash.

Once I had a good idea I started to modroc the whole splash, which basically took me around 5 hours...

I think Im happy with this, it looks like a giant splash....
