Pipe Cutting

I set up a work area in my art room and clamped a pipe to a work bench. I then inserted a torch and started cutting through.
The only problem was the light wasn't creating the shadow I wanted. The strength of the light wasn't strong enough to shine out from inside the pipe and project on another surface. This was a problem.
By experimenting with sanding into the grooves I could see a glow coming from the pipe, which gave the a look of warmth and a glow of skin against light, .
I found a good image of the structure of an arm which included the muscles, tendons and bones and I sketched this onto my pipe.

I then began to cut away, experimenting with different drill heads and sanders to find the effect I was looking for.
